The National Service Scheme (NSS) at Mangalayatan University, Jabalpur, a self-financed unit under the Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, is committed to nurturing the personality and character of student youth through voluntary community service. Since its inception in 2021, the NSS unit has executed 250 impactful activities, including three seven-day camps, clothing distribution drives, blood donation camps, and extensive cleanliness initiatives. Operating under the motto ‘Education through Service,’ the NSS provides hands-on community service experiences while fostering awareness of India’s rich cultural diversity, historical legacy, and national pride. By blending social service with nation-building, the NSS equips volunteers to make meaningful societal contributions and reinforces their dedication to national unity and development. The unit actively engages in diverse social service and national development programs, significantly impacting the community. Under the exemplary leadership of Dr. Prakash Mishra, a responsible, committed, and highly experienced NSS Officer, the university’s NSS unit continues to thrive and inspire positive change.
